What began as a hobby became a second career. In 1999 I began writing Three Deuces Down just for fun. I had no thoughts of becoming a published author. My wife, Tessa, having read the first half, thought it was good. To prove the point, she sent it off to a publisher and the rest, as they say, is history. Three Deuces Down was finally published in 2008 and my writing career was off and running. Three Days Dead followed in 2009 continuing with Three Devils Dancing (2011), Three Deadly Drops (2012), Three Dragons Doomed (2014), Three Daggers Dripping (2016) and Three Divers Deep (2017). We affectionately call them Deuces, Dead, Devils, Drops, Dragons, Daggers and Divers. I am currently working on book eight; the title a closely guarded secret. The hobby turned into a full-time job. Somewhere between Dead and Devils I realized that I was really an author. I wasn't sure I could write another book when I started Dead. By the time I finished Devils I knew I was meant to be a writer and the books kept coming. I have created this world of Donald Youngblood and friends, a core group of re-occurring characters. I care about them. I have to write to find out what is happening in their lives. Donald Youngblood is not your typical private investigator. His background is Wall Street. As you read through the series and uncover more of his background you will discover things that make his second career more plausible. Billy Two-Feathers, a Cherokee Indian, is Don's partner. They are about justice more than they are about the law and in the end of each book justice is served. They evolve as the series matures. My goal was to write something that I would want to read myself. So, I kept the chapters short and the story fast paced. The page design is reader friendly; open and easy to read. Feedback from Donald Youngblood fans lets me know that I accomplished my goal.
