Carter is a New York Times bestselling author who teamed up with tennis phenom Venus Williams to write “Come to Win: Business Leaders, Artists, Doctors and Other Visionaries on How Sports Can Help You Top Your Profession.” Kelly also penned National Geographic Book’s “The Dog Lover’s Guide to Travel.” The tail-all travel guide features 75 of the best places in the United States and Canada to vacation with a dog and earned Kelly a Lowell Thomas Award from the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation. As a trailblazing sportswriter, Kelly was the first female beat writer assigned to cover the Los Angeles Lakers. After 11 years of sweaty NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL locker rooms working for various media outlets, including USA Today and on air for CNNSI, she became a celebrity reporter at People then returned to USA Today.
