Ken Vernon

关于作者

Ken Vernon is one of those oddballs life throws up occasionally. Born and bred in Australia, after leaving school at fifteen he travelled the world looking for the perfect wave before finally washing up on the shores of Africa and instantly knowing it was where he belonged. After working as a storeman, glass washer, fruit picker, clothes salesman, electrician and electrical engineer, he ended up at South Africa’s Rhodes University studying Journalism and Politics before spending 30 years as a journalist, specialising mainly in African politics. He has written widely on politics, economics and the environment in addition to covering wars and mayhem across the African continent, reporting from Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, Madagascar, Zimbabwe and the Comoros – to name just a few. Today he lives on Australia’s Gold Coast.
