In recent years I have specialized in helping people find and tell their story. I am the author of more than a dozen fiction and nonfiction books. Every life is a story, but finding that story is an art that I've refined through the years. Think of it this way: An account is like the refrigerator goulash my mother-in-law used to serve. Recipe: Clean out the fridge, throw everything in a pot, and hope for the best. By contrast, a story is a carefully-planned multi-course meal, where each ingredient is chosen to enhance the participants' enjoyment. This is a lesson the editor of my first published book taught me--I had started the book one way, but she asked if there wasn't a story that might lead into the main point of the book. That reminded me of the fascinating interview I'd had with an astronaut who had been to the moon. Starting the book with that story helped sell the manuscript. Currently I'm working on two novels that will form the basis of a long-running series, plus a screenplay, taking out time frequently to help people with fascinating life stories get them written and published. I am available for life-story consultations and writing projects.
