Kenn Payne

Kenn was born in Cheshire, North West England but has resided in Coventry in the West Midlands for almost twenty years. He has consciously been on a Pagan Path since the age of 15, exploring different elements of Wicca, Witchcraft, Hellenic Reconstructionism, and Druidry along the way. The last fifteen years have been heavily influenced and guided by his explorations into the Mysteries of the Goddess Hekate, specifically; And although his relationship with Hekate has indeed been gruelling at times but ultimately is one of guidance, personal healing, and empowerment. He seeks ways to venerate the Goddess in the 21st Century, whilst maintaining a healthy respect for the historical evidence and facts that can be coloured and infused by personal experience and gnosis. Kenn was a founding member, and eventual Torchbearer, and Keybearer for the Covenant of Hekate. He created and acted as the original editor of the Covenant’s ezine, Askei Kataskei. More recently he has stepped into the role of Companion with the CoH, retiring from the more active role of Keybearer. The Oracle of the Hekatean Path is Kenn’s first fully published work, conceived after many years exploration of Hekate’s Mysteries, brought to life by talented artist and friend, Chris Butler. Previously, Kenn has contributed to several anthology titles. For Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Bearing Torches: A Devotional Anthology for Hekate, Unbound: A Devotional Anthology for Artemis (2009), and Out of Arcadia: A Devotional Anthology for Pan (2011). For Moon Books, Paganism 101: An Introduction to Paganism by 101 Pagans (2014), and Naming the God (2022). For Lune Valley Publishing, Hekate: Goddess of Liminal Space (2023) He currently lives in the Midlands, UK with his cats: Merlin, Obsidian, Luna, and Orion. He enjoys good coffee and fine wine, visiting museums, reading, arts & crafts, horror films, ancient history, arts & crafts, and listening to an eclectic range of music.
