Norwegian artist Kenneth Larsen cranks up the energy in his comic strip Bestie with its dynamic style and personal yet universally relatable stories. Drawing inspiration from real-life experiences, Kenneth’s comics explore the quirks of everyday friendship with sharp, unfiltered wit. Alongside stand-alone strips, he skillfully weaves continuous story arcs, typically spanning around 20 strips, crafting layered narratives with climactic moments within the overarching story. These arcs add depth, humor, and complexity, delivering a more immersive reading experience. You’ll rarely encounter static “talking heads” in his work; instead, his lively expressions and vibrant panels have become hallmarks of his distinctive artistic approach. Bestie (known as Bestis in Norwegian) debuted in 2016, quickly earning a prestigious spot in Norway’s largest comic magazine, Pondus. Since then, his work has appeared in numerous publications and newspapers across the Nordics, building a devoted online following. With over 1,700 comic strips and counting, Bestie is now being published as a complete collection, available for the first time in English.
