Elizma Coetzee (Kietz) was born in the Free State in 1962. She completed her school career in Sasolburg and then joined the South African Army Women's College in George for a year. After that, she qualified as a nature conservationist and pursued further courses in community development. She is married, has three children, all of whom are married, and five grandchildren. She began writing later in life as a hobby and enjoys writing novels with a strong spiritual undertone. Twelve of her books and two short stories have been published by Kwarts. Additionally, two short stories have been published in Sprankel (a short story and poetry collection from the Montagu Book Festival). Apart from writing, she is passionate about her Creator, family, and people in general. While her professional career has always been in nature conservation institutions, she also took a writing course through 'Skryfgeheime'. One of her books, was also translated into English.
