Kim was born in London and moved to North Yorkshire at the age of 13 when her parents returned to the North York Moors near Whitby. Kim attended Harrogate Art College for Foundation studies but it was 30 years, 2 children and various disguises later that she eventually returned to Cleveland College of Art (now The Northern School) as a mature student and attained a first-class degree in Textiles and Surface Design. Kim is now an artist/ illustrator based in the English Lake District. Her use of the cyanotype process combines plants and found objects, with hand drawn and photographic elements well as hand embroidery, to create folk and nature-inspired images on paper and fabric. In 2020 she appeared on BBC Countryfile demonstrating cyanotype at Dove Cottage and in May 2024 her book "A Beginner’s Guide to Cyanotype" is published in The UK, USA and Australia by Search Press.
