Kimberly Adams grew up in a small town in northern New Mexico, where she studied art as a young adult taking private lessons. Continuing her fine art education, she attended a local junior college earning her associate of arts degree. She received her BFA from Eastern New Mexico University shortly after. She worked as an executive in corporate retail for 23 years before pursuing her love for the arts full time. She currently lives in Seattle WA with her husband Robert Tremper and two children. In 2014, she launched her professional art career, relying on her self-confidence and business acumen to chart her own course, and the results have been remarkable. In just a few short years, through bricks-and-mortar and online galleries, her work has been collected into private collections. Yet she claims that her greatest achievements lie in the direction she’s given other artists through her teaching, both private lessons in her Kirkland teaching studio and workshops at Cole Gallery in Edmonds. Kimberly is also giving back through two art instruction books. She is a co-author of Oil and Acrylic Workshop, published by Walter Foster Publishing in July of 2017, and she is currently developing her own book about color theory, also to be published by Walter Foster in April 2018. “I feel I grow as an artist by teaching, as I learn from the students as much as I share my knowledge,” Kimberly notes. She also thrives on encouraging other aspiring artists to pursue their dreams, which is why she enjoys serving as a board member for Kirkland’s Parklane Gallery as well as the chair of the Kirkland Art Walk. She also volunteers for the nonprofit Art Makes You, teaching art camps to children in need. Her original art work is currently represented at Cole Gallery in Edmonds WA, The Grand Fine Art Gallery in Jackson Hole WY and Parklane Gallery in Kirkland WA.
