Kris Szabo

Kris Szabo has always loved reading and writing. Ever since she was a little girl she dreamed of becoming a published author. She grew up playing school in her basement with her stuffed animals. Starting her journey as an elementary and special education teacher, Kris soon found herself in the role of a school administrator, where she had the joy of collaborating with amazing teachers, students, and families for nearly 32 years. Grateful for her time in education, Kris now spends her days indulging in her creative pursuits: writing, painting, practicing yoga, and cherishing moments with her cherished family. Nestled in Connecticut with her husband, two children, and their furry companions Bailey & Charley. Kris draws inspiration from the adventures of her own children, her diverse experiences in public education, and the whimsy of her own childhood. Through her stories, Kris hopes to sprinkle a little bit of magic into the hearts of young readers, encouraging them to embrace themselves, and foster a world filled with kindness, acceptance, and boundless imagination.
