Krista Wenz brings over 36 years of hands-on experience as a licensed Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) and professional firefighter. Starting her career with a large metropolitan ambulance agency in the '80s, Krista transitioned to the fire service in the early '90s, driven by a deep passion for emergency response. With a bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety Management, she spent years as a firefighter-paramedic for a major Metropolitan Fire Department, where handling 20-30 calls per shift was the norm. In addition to her frontline work, Krista has shared her extensive knowledge as an Adjunct Instructor, training both EMT and paramedic students at community and private colleges. Her diverse experience includes serving as a Mental Health Technician in psychiatric facilities, a Drill Instructor and Field Training Officer for multiple agencies, and a certified instructor in CPR, First Aid, PALS, BLS, and ACLS. She’s also served as EMS Captain for rural fire departments and successfully owned a CPR and First Aid training business. Now retired from active service, Krista is dedicated to sharing her wealth of experience as a freelance EMS educator, helping shape the next generation of emergency medical professionals.
