An author, lawyer, and legal writing professor, L. M. Lilly founded WritingAsASecondCareer.com to help writers juggling other full-time careers or pursuits. Her non-fiction includes The One-Year Novelist: A Week-By-Week Guide To Writing Your Novel In One Year; Creating Compelling Characters From The Inside Out; and Super Simple Story Structure: A Quick Guide to Plotting & Writing Your Novel, among other books for writers. Writing as Lisa M. Lilly, she is the author of the Q.C. Davis detective mystery series and the best selling four-book Awakening supernatural thriller series as well as the standalone gothic horror novel When Darkness Falls. She also wrote the short-story collection The Tower Formerly Known as Sears and Two Other Tales of Urban Horror, the title story of which was made into the short film Willis Tower. A resident of Chicago, Lilly is a member and past officer of the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists. She joined AAIM after an intoxicated driver caused the deaths of her parents in 2007.
