Lance Marwood

关于作者

Lance Marwood is a writer, storyteller, and lifelong observer of the human condition. Born in Caledon East, Ontario, he has lived a life shaped by contrasts—small-town beginnings, big-city struggles, and global adventures across India, Hong Kong, England, and beyond. Lance’s creative journey began in 2008 as the host of The Hard Stuff, a college radio show at Ryerson (now Toronto Metropolitan University) that spotlighted and interviewed hardcore bands, later evolving into a YouTube series. His formative years were spent fronting hardcore bands in Toronto, where his writing—both in lyrics and stories—channeled raw intensity and unease. Live performances became an extension of this ethos, merging visceral acts and cryptic rituals that left audiences questioning where art ended and something darker began. Between shifts at dive bars, Lance honed a voice that thrived on discomfort, crafting narratives that blurred the line between the performer and the performance. In 2015, Lance moved to the UK with his wife, where he worked for Mercedes-Benz and began his prolific writing career, contributing over 200 articles, reviews, and features for PureGrainAudio. After returning to Canada in 2020, they welcomed two children amidst a whirlwind of loss, upheaval, and transformation. For nearly a decade, Lance has written for V13 Media (formerly PureGrainAudio) and co-founded V13 Promotions (2023) and V13 Press (2024), the latter dedicated to supporting independent authors. ‘Build Your Foundation’ is his debut non-fiction publication. ‘The Cherale’ is his debut novel. He now lives in Hamilton with his wife, their two kids, and their cat.
