Larry Benfield is the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas. After an MBA from the Wharton School and a career in commercial banking, he attended Virginia Theological Seminary and was ordained as an Episcopal priest, working first as a chaplain at Texas A & M, and then in parishes in central Arkansas before becoming the diocesan bishop in 2007. Sundays will find him preaching in congregations across Arkansas on the Christian call to see the risen Christ in everyone, which will eventually lead to compassion for all people. Saturdays will usually find him riding his bicycle around Little Rock, Arkansas, his home.
