Laura Diaz is an author, a YouTuber, a blogger and the creator of the “Learning Reading Hub” platform, which was created to learn about reading instruction and to raise awareness about the importance of using the right methodologies for teaching reading. Laura possesses a TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) certification, in addition to a Journalism degree from the University of Navarra (Spain) and a Master’s Degree in Communication from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) Laura has always enjoyed researching, writing, communicating and sharing her passions with others. She has extensive experience in marketing, digital projects and in the education industry (language learning). When faced with the challenge of teaching her first child to read, she experienced first-hand how complex this job was. This took her on an amazing journey of self-education, discovery and learning, but also a great deal of disappointment: conflicting information, nonsense methodologies and rigid beliefs, which she found were unfortunately common place. Her passion (and mission!) now is sharing this journey with others, what she’s learned, facilitating the path for others in the same situation she was. Laura is devoted to her family and the Learning Reading Hub project. She lives in Australia, with her husband and her two daughters, and raises her children in a bi-lingual environment (English and Spanish).
