Laura Pantin

Hi! My name is Laura Pantin and I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to the United States when I was six years old. I obtained my Master of Arts in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Teachers College Columbia University in 2015 and am currently pursuing my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. I am currently a fourth-grade dual language educator in a two-way immersion program in South Florida. I previously taught Kindergarten Dual Language on the Spanish side for four years and am currently teaching Fourth Grade Dual on the Spanish side. I helped create, organize and launch our dual language program at our school and helped to establish the Dual Language Team, where I currently hold the Team Leader position. I have presented at local, national, international and online bilingual education or language learning conferences. I co-authored the article “Creating Shared Access: Bilingual Teachers and Children Using Technology to Multimodally Negotiate Understandings in Science and Language”, which was published in Spring 2018 in the Multiple Voices for Ethnically Diverse Exceptional Learners Journal. I am very passionate about the field of bilingual education and specifically dual language programming. I have created and curated my social media presence as @LearningBilingually, on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, where I post about resources, websites, materials, research, books and share dual language teaching ideas for all dual language educators, with a focus on the Spanish teachers. I create resources for dual language educators to utilize and implement with their own students. The resources I create are in Spanish and are utilized by teachers from Kindergarten to Fifth grade who teach in dual language programs or parents raising bilingual children.
