Lauren Walczak

My name is Lauren and Sadie Sloth and Her Spaghetti is my very first children's book! My youngest daughter Sadie was diagnosed with Autism when she was 26 months old. We navigated the whole process blindly - early intervention, behavior therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, Floortime, you name it! Not only all of the traditional therapies, but navigating day-to-day life in our home was an ongoing challenge. Over time I learned that it was helpful for Sadie to have books related to the struggles she was facing. It would help to provide her guidance if I could talk to her about a character from a book who was having similar difficulties. That is how Sadie Sloth and Her Spaghetti came to life! When I'm not busy writing or working on new foods in the kitchen, I enjoy all things coffee and love to tap dance. I have a degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Rhode Island and green is my favorite color.
