LAURENCE SCOT is the cofounder and co-managing partner of Skody Scot & Company, a midtown CPA firm formed in 1990 that specializes in servicing the Not-For-Profit Community. He has an MBA from Pace University and has taught undergraduate and graduate classes at several colleges, and been lecturing and giving seminars to CPAs, Bankers, NFP D&Os, Management and entrepreneurs for over 20 years on a variety of subjects. Recently he created the first-if-its- kind, four course, in-class certificate program in Not-For-Profit accounting and governmental reporting. Mr. Scot has chaired a number of prominent Boards and committees such as the New York City Mayor's Small Business Committee and has received numerous awards for his civic activities including a Community Service Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Citation for Community Service from the Manhattan Borough President, Accounting Advocate of the Year Award from the SBA and the Entrepreneur Of The Year Award from Crain’s New York Business.
