Leon D. Labastide

Leon Labastide is an author of five books including Breath of Life Poetry, Here Come The Dreamers: the Journey, Transparency, and Pink Cover: Things That are Important and We Are One. Mr. Labastide’s books have been inducted into the Guyana National Library, both in Georgetown and in Linden, on July 25, 2015, and August 7, 2015, respectively. Leon’s work can be found in the Guyana Chronicle and Starbrooke Newspaper both in print and online. Mr. Labastide is a Creative Writer and SpokenWord Artist, known as TheGuyanesePoet. He is a frequent performer at poetry events, religious gatherings, college campuses, conferences, youth summits, government rallies, and book tours in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands Antilles, and Guyana. Mr. Labastide mesmerizes audiences with his inspirational prose, insightful short stories, and authentic life experiences. His storytelling skills simply can not be silenced. Mr. Labastide's fifth publication entitled; We Are One, his new book is a guideline for individuals who are visiting Guyana for the first time or are returning back home after a long time. He categorizes his new book as a tourism guidebook for all ages. Mr. Labastide created original poems that complement each photograph within the book. This new poetic book highlights Guyana's history, Guyanese people, infrastructure, landmarks, and new developments.
