Letta S. Baker Mason is a passionate educator with a diverse career that spans early childhood education to post-secondary institutions, including work within the juvenile justice system. Her impressive career includes collaborating with President Nelson Mandela to implement the "Bridging the Gap Curriculum" and designing culturally responsive curricula for Princess Kasune Zulu of Zambia. She has also developed S.T.E.M. programs for World Vision, demonstrating her commitment to innovative education. In addition to her work in education, Letta has contributed to the arts, collaborating with two Grammy Award-winning artists as a songwriter. She has authored four publications that focus on integrating the arts into education using multiple intelligences and culturally responsive teaching methods. Letta currently serves as an Early Childhood Dual Language Adjunct Faculty member at Evergreen State College Tacoma, a Child Development Instructor at Seattle Central College, an Education Licensure Faculty member at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, and a Black Studies Instructor and Curriculum Developer. As the owner of Sankofa Educational Services, she specializes in coaching educators on implementing multiple intelligences and culturally responsive curricula. Outside of her professional life, Letta is the proud mother of six adult children and the grandmother of eleven amazing grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and creating with her grandchildren. She finds solace in writing, developing curriculum, and relaxing by the ocean, where she enjoys listening to jazz and neo-soul while curled up with a good book. Despite her many professional achievements, Letta treasures her role in nurturing her "Scholars," "grandScholars," and the Scholars in her community who come into her life, considering it her most important and fulfilling work.
