Dr. Libby Lewis is a Professor of Media Studies, African American Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. She earned an MA in Journalism and a Ph.D. in African Diaspora Studies with a Designated Emphasis in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Lewis’ interest in race, culture, and multimedia is informed by her experience as a television news anchor/reporter for CBS and NBC. Recognized as an international expert on racism, Lewis was invited to speak and consult with diverse audiences on a wide range of subjects including Media, Marketing, Branding, Innovative Communications, and Cultural Representation. She earned a news reporting award by the Associated Press Television & Radio Association and a television news reporting award by the National Association of Black Journalists. Lewis is a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship recipient and was selected for the Institute of American Cultures Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at UCLA. She has spoken on radio, television, and online media in the United Kingdom about the U.S. Elections and the politics of representation in shaping our worldview.
