Linda Gray grew up in Massachusetts and discovered horses at age 12, becoming a nuisance at a nearby stable until they let her be a tour guide. She graduated from University of Massachusetts, summa cum laude, and holds a graduate certificate in technical writing from Northeastern University. During her career, she worked as a freelance technical writer and instructional designer for several large companies, the states of Georgia and Michigan, and the government of Canada. She was finally able to return to her lifelong passion for horses when she moved to Costa Rica in 2004. Buying 200 acres of land on her first visit, she ended up building a successful horseback tour business and a development of small farms. Some of the stories in this book were published on an old website called Costa Rica Sozo, where Linda was a featured monthly author. One of her stories, “The Yellow Submarine” won second place in the ARCR (Association for Residents of Costa Rica) writing contest. Linda left Costa Rica in 2021 and lived for about a year on Maryland's Eastern Shore. In 2022 she moved to St. Croix, in the US Virgin Islands. She now feels at home again and is in the process of writing a new memoir about island life.
