The author is a CELTA trained and certified teacher of English working mainly with young learners, she has over 15 years experience in the bilingual classroom. Born and educated in the United Kingdom she has lived in Spain for many years. The idea for the Find The Letters, Read The Words books came from materials the author uses in her own classroom. Unlike teaching native speaking children synthetic phonics, she wanted to include images with the words to help children who are learning English as a foreign language to also be able to learn vocabulary along with the sounds of English. It is a method that has proven to be popular as the students also see pictures for the words they are learning to pronounce and read.
