Lori Hoffman Penna

Lori Hoffman Penna is an author and illustrator whose love for classic children's books inspired her creative journey. Her writing highlights themes of compassion, self-reliance, and kindness to others. After completing her BFA in illustration at Moore College of Art & Design, she worked in arts education for many years, where she enjoyed helping young artists prepare their portfolios and navigate the admissions process. She is now quite content to spend more time in her studio, where the idea for Catawampus, a character inspired by her love of cats, finally became a book. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and son.
