About the Author… This book begins where he began- as a farm boy growing up in the foothills of Appalachia near Chillicothe, Ohio. Born of Scot-Irish parents, he grew up during the Great Depression and World War II. During the 1960’s and the Cold War years, Adams’ Naval life took him and his family to Morocco---a country of many contrasts and at a time of new challenges. His medical duties were varied and included working with the Moroccan Ministry of Health. He returned to Morocco as the Deputy Director of the Peace Corps in charge of a group of Lab Techs. The overall success of the program was marginal due to many factors: limited number of well trained-medical technologist, demands for additional lab tests overwhelmed AB generalist, lab bench work limited cross-culture exchange, and loyalty to work ethics was limited. Cities like Tangier, Tetouan, and Marrakesh in the 1960’s provided adventure, deception, intrigue, mystery, and high-octane thrills that attracted expatriates, writers, poets, exotic travelers, and Peace Corps Volunteers who got caught up in the drug scene.
