Louis Hoffman, PhD, is the Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Humanistic Counseling and Psychological Association and a past president of the Society for Humanistic Psychology (Division 32 of the American Psychological Association). He also is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado and provides telepsychology (therapy through secure video online) in various states (AZ, DE, GA, IL, IA, MO, NE, NH, NV, OK, PA, TX, & UT). Dr. Hoffman faculty member at Existential-Humanistic Institute (www.ehinstitute.org) and the International Institute for Existential-Humanistic Psychology (www.iiehp.org). He is the 2020/2021 recipient of the Rollo May Award from the Society for Humanistic Psychology. In recognition of his contributions to the field of psychology, he has been named a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Society for General Psychology (APA Division 1) the Society for the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts (APA Division 10), the Society for Humanistic Psychology (APA Division 32), the Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality (APA Division 36), Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence: Peace Psychology Division (APA Divison 48), and APA 52 (International Psychology). Although the majority of his published works are scholarly in nature, he is also a published poet with an interest in diverse genres of writing and literature. Dr. Hoffman is regularly engaged with international dialogues and provides training in existential psychology in an international context. As part of this, he regularly travels to China to participate in cross-cultural exchange and provide training in existential and humanistic psychology.
