Luann Atkin Koester

Luann Atkin Koester spent over 26 years teaching high school language arts and college composition. She’s a fellow of the National and Colorado Writing Projects and thinks of herself as a writer teaching writers. Koester creates historical fiction for teens and adults who enjoy a good story, as well as children's books and poetry. Now retired, Koester enjoys writing, leading writing workshops, traveling, spending time with family, and playing golf. She has published Hawk's Cry, The Story of a Cheyenne Hero—a finalist in the Colorado Authors League 2024 Middle Grade Book of the year, a children's picture book Gran Kissed the Blarney Stone, and she has two of her poems featured in Rise, an Anthology of Change, the winner of the Colorado Humanities 2020 Colorado Awards for Best Anthology.
