Lucia Raatma

Lucia Tarbox Raatma was born in Georgetown, South Carolina, and grew up on the grounds of Brookgreen Gardens, an outdoor sculpture garden and wildlife park. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of South Carolina and went on to earn an M.A. in cinema studies from New York University. For a number of years, she held editorial roles in book and magazine publishing, then made the jump to higher education communications. These days, she is working on a number of book projects. She lives near Richmond, Virginia, with her husband and dog, enjoying frequent visits from their grown son and daughter.
