Lydia Powell

Lydia Powell is a proud mother and author passionate about celebrating the joys and challenges of sibling relationships. Inspired by the daily adventures and experiences shared with her three daughters—ages 7, 5, and 2—and her newborn baby boy, Lydia brings a heartfelt perspective to her writing. As a Black mother raising both daughters and a son, she is dedicated to creating stories that reflect love, empowerment, and representation. Her nonfiction children’s book, The Sister Crew, was co-created with her daughters, allowing their voices and experiences to shine. Together, they crafted a heartfelt story that highlights the importance of sisterhood, friendship, and family bonds. When she’s not writing, Lydia enjoys spending quality time with her children, fostering creativity through crafts and activities, and inspiring young minds to dream big. She hopes her stories will bring families closer and leave a lasting impact on readers everywhere.
