Evelyn Lynne Cox

About the author: Lynne Cox has enjoyed being a music educator, composer, author, performer, and adjudicator for piano auditions for many years. Her piano compositions for children (of all ages) have won state and national awards and recognition. ‘The Christmas Doll Bed’ is her first book. Earning her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, in the 1960s, she enjoyed her music teaching career teaching private piano lessons and later elementary public school music. Retired from teaching, she enjoys performing, presenting workshops, judging piano auditions, and composing for children. Lynne is a published composer/author with Alfred Music (her Sea Creature Series) and also publishes through her own publishing company, Lynne Cox Publications. Her award-winning compositions appear on state and national required performing lists in various music organizations. Credentials include: Recipient of the 2005 Distinguished Alumni Award, School of Music, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC; Fulbright-Hays Scholar 2007; Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance, ECU; Certification in Public School Music, ECU; State Finalist for the Sarah Belk Gambrell Award 2003 for Excellence in Public School Music; over 45 years music teaching experience; formerly State and National certification in MTNA; and Church musician 43 yrs.
