Mónica Carretero

Mónica Carretero nació en Madrid pero ahora vive felizmente en Segovia. Es autodidacta y antes de dedicarse profesionalmente a dibujar y escribir cuentos trabajó realizando pintura decorativa, como diseñadora gráfica y haciendo deliciosas tartas en el salón de té que tuvo durante tres años. Su cabeza es como el camarote de los hermanos Marx, llena de personajes deseando contar su historia. Se divierte mucho dibujando y asegura que esta profesión le da la vida. Una gran pasión que se refleja indudablemente en sus ilustraciones, pues están llenas de color y transmiten alegría, vitalidad, disfrute... Ha ilustrado decenas de libros para España, Inglaterra, Corea, Australia y EEUU. También colabora con diversas revistas españolas y americanas. Realiza además muchos trabajos fuera del mundo editorial: decoración, producto, textil... Su trabajo ha sido reconocido con diverso premios en la London Book Fair, los Latino Book Awards en EEUU y la BookExpo America de Nueva York. Mónica Carretero was born in Madrid but now lives happily in Segovia (Spain). She is self-taught and before dedicating herself professionally to drawing and writing stories she worked as a decorative designer, as a graphic designer and making delicious cakes in the tea room she had for three years. His head is like the cabin of the Marx brothers, full of characters wishing to tell their story. She has a lot of fun drawing and ensures that this profession gives her life. A great passion that is undoubtedly reflected in his illustrations, as they are full of color and transmit joy, vitality, enjoyment ... She has illustrated dozens of books for Spain, England, Korea, Australia and the USA. She also collaborates with various Spanish and American magazines. She also performs many jobs outside the publishing world: decoration, product, textile ... Her work has been recognized with several awards at the London Book Fair, the Latin Book Awards in the USA and the BookExpo America in New York.
