M. A. Dershem was born in Chicago, but grew up in Oklahoma, eventually earning a Bachelors of Arts at Oklahoma State University in English Literature. After spending several years in Boulder, Colorado, she moved to North Texas and spent 27 years teaching English Language Arts in a large public high school. When she wasn’t grading or planning, she was dreaming up plots and outlining novels she hoped to write in her spare time, which was non-existent during her years in the classroom. When she retired, all the spare time in the world showed up at once, and Something Wicked, her debut novel, was the result. When not writing or reading cozy mysteries, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking long walks if it isn’t 100 degrees outside, and sampling new varieties of bourbon. She currently lives in north Texas with her husband and their two incredibly spoiled cats, Eris and Ajax. She hopes to continue the Hell Hath No Fury series in the upcoming years.
