ABOUT THE AUTHOR M. S. Kimzey (Michael) has been a public school teacher for 24 years. Over the course of his career, he has taught high school, middle school, and elementary school. In that time, he has been a favorite teacher of many aspiring heroes and shield maidens. He has always loved and believed in all of his students. His desire is to introduce the next generation of readers to all the magic and joy that is available to them, right here, in this world. Alex Branson and the Ogre of Thrandar is his debut novel. Kimzey’s favorite quote, from his favorite author, is by C. S. Lewis, “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” The quote that started him on the journey of writing The Ogre of Thrandar was a line from a letter from Lewis to Tolkien, “If they won't write the kinds of books we want to read, we shall have to write them ourselves.” Kimzey says he thought, “There are many books I love, but there is a certain kind of book that doesn’t neatly fit in the current genres, and that is the kind of book that I would love to write.” And so, he did.
