Mandy Matney is an award-winning journalist originally from Shawnee, Kansas who has worked for newspapers in Missouri, Illinois, and South Carolina before launching Luna Shark Productions and chart topping podcasts, Murdaugh Murders Podcast, True Sunlight & Cup of Justice. Mandy's deep relationships with those at the heart of a story, especially victims, provide her unmatched insight. Mandy's reporting uses a victim-first approach to journalism that is not only the right thing to do, but it is what her audiences crave. Mandy's first podcast sparked a global analysis of the “Good Ole Boy System” in South Carolina, the different set of rules for the privileged, laid bare. Mandy's approach exposed a system that illuminates the substantially different applications of justice for families without connections to the highest reaches of power. Throughout her career, Mandy sought to expose the truth, wherever it leads. Mandy believes in journalism that is honest, focuses on justice for victims, and holds power to account. Mandy is a KU grad with deep roots in the Sunflower State, but currently lives on Hilton Head Island with her husband David and pups where she enjoys beach life.
