Marco Amabili

Marco Amabili holds the Canada Research Chair in Vibrations and Fluid-Structure Interaction at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is the author of Nonlinear Vibrations and Stability of Shells and Plates (2008) and Nonlinear Mechanics of Shells and Plates: Composite, Soft and Biological Materials (2018), both published by Cambridge University Press. He is the author of more than 450 papers, 210 of them in refereed international journals, including Nature Communications. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. Dr. Amabili received the Christophe Pierre Research Excellence Award by McGill University in 2015. He serves as Contributing Editor for the International Journal of Non-linear Mechanics, and Associate Editor of Journal of Fluids and Structures, both published by Elsevier. He is the chair of the Canadian National Committee for Mechanics (IUTAM) and chair of the technical committee for Dynamics and Control of Systems and Structures of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
