Maria Colletti, author of Living Decor: Botanical Styling with Houseplants and Terrariums: Gardens under Glass is a traveling workshop instructor. Maria currently teaches the Living Décor terrarium series at New York Botanical Garden Adult Education. She also, sells her custom-made terrariums at street fairs and flea markets such as Nyack Street Fair. Her signature glass globe, The Katie, has gravel, sand, seashells, and a terrarium foliage plant or air plant. The queen of green, Maria was dubbed, ‘terrarium savant’ in an online article for Edible Manhattan! Maria’s terrarium tips have been featured in The Washington Post, Toronto Star, San Diego Union Tribune and other syndicated news as well as Cottages & Bungalows, Country Gardens magazine while her designs posted online with HGTV and Architectural Digest. Maria presents workshops at Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum in the conservatory room. From 2016-2017, she worked seasonally at Terrain of Westport, Connecticut, an upscale gardening and décor store of Anthropologie . In 2016, she was featured presenter at Country Living Magazine fair in Rhinebeck, New York. You can hear her radio interview by NPR’s You Bet Your Garden host, Mike McGrath. Colletti was featured at Sands Point and New Canaan Garden club monthly meetings, Rye Yacht club, and workshops at Westbury library programs. Previously, Maria worked as the NYC Midtown Plantscaping Manager, maintaining the plants of many large atrium in Manhattan, including the Guggenheim Museum and ABC TV studios. Maria has degrees in Horticulture and Anthropology.
