For 15 years I worked my way through the fitness ranks, from Aqua and teaching Swimming, through Gym Instructor and Personal Trainers, Aerobics and Outdoor Training, but really; once I'd found Pilates and Yoga - I knew that was the direction I wanted to go in. And thank goodness!! Because when I broke my back, of all the disciplines I had explored and made a living from - these were both still available to me in some form or another both as a way of rehabilitation and as a career, when all other options had and have been taken away. My passion for both disciplines drew me to teacher training and between 2009 and 2016, I have worked in a consultancy capacity for Fitness Inspired Teacher Training, providing accredited Pilates Teaching qualifications and Yoga Teacher Training. After the accident, I started working with them more on the business management side of things but the travel became too much for my back and I stepped down. Currently I work in rehabilitation from my home studio and alongside a Chiropractic Clinic. I have always had an enthusiasm for function and biomechanics and my first book is a representation of my style of teaching, useful for teachers and practitioners alike. Moving forward, I hope to explore the role of movement in the management of both physical and psychological conditions/well-being and publish books related to these topics.
