Marie Viljoen

Marie Viljoen is a writer, forager, gardener, and cook, and has loved edible plants since her childhood in South Africa. Marie hosts sought-after seasonal botanical walks with forage picnics in New York City. Her chef-collaborations include Eleven Madison Park. Marie's urban and edible gardens have been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, The New York Times and Martha Stewart Living, and appear in several books. She teaches wild food and edible plant classes at the New York Botanical Garden and is the resident forage expert for Gardenista. Her stories and photographs appear in Saveur, Better Homes and Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, and many other publications.
