Marilee Sprenger is known as the "brainlady" to teachers and students. She began teaching in the primary grades, then moved to middle school, on to high school, and now teaches graduate classes and presents staff development both nationally and internationally. An insatiable reader and prolific writer, Marilee is constantly keeping up with educational research and translating it into practice for educators. As a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the latest brain research is at her fingertips. Writing and speaking about the brain brought her closer to applying differentiated instruction in her classrooms and she shares her strategies in several of her books. As a language arts teacher for twenty-two of her teaching years, she is passionate about all students learning to read. Research on reading lead her to the importance of vocabulary. Her latest books cover vocabulary strategies for all levels.
