Mark Kalina

I was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1972, moved to the United States in 1978, and mostly grew up in Texas and California. My education was in history (mostly military history) and law. As a day job, I'm the CEO of a small R&D company that develops advanced technology for power plants. Science fiction and fantasy, in many forms, are a long-term hobby for me. I currently live in Texas, with my wife and two children. "Hegemony" is my second novel, but the first one I've seen fit to e-publish. "Armored Tears" is the 3rd novel I've finished, and the second I've e-published. It's also sci-fi, but is not related to "Hegemony" work in terms of continuity. "Warrior" -a post-apocalyptic sci-fi novella- is the 3rd work I've e-published. "Modern Day Amazons and the New Texas Rangers" is an alternate history adventure with some steam-punk elements. "The Falcon of the Sea" is a new direction for me: a historical adventure set in the Mediterranean of the 15th century. "The Bitter Wind" is a two-book series ("The Winter Wind" and "The Winds of Spring") of gunpowder fantasy, set in world vaguely reminiscent of Europe's 16th century.
