Mark Orwoll

Mark Orwoll is an award-winning journalist and author who has traveled to more than 90 countries, mostly on assignment as a travel writer. Over the years, he has been an adjunct professor at NYU, the International Editor of Travel + Leisure magazine, and a newspaper reporter in California. He has also been a dishwasher, strawberry picker, clerk in a headshop, salesman at a Jeans West store, pizza-delivery guy, gas station attendant, and wineshop dogsbody. In his spare time, he plays the mandolin, poorly but with gusto. Orwoll and his wife make their home in New York's Lower Hudson Valley.
