In 2018 Nation became Professor of Theology, Emeritus, at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Prior to his teaching for sixteen years at EMS, he was Director of the London Mennonite Centre, London, England. Prior to that he did many things over the years: Adjunct Lecturer, Fuller Theological Seminary; pastor in various churches; founding director of an ecumenical peace and justice organization; co-founder of a human rights organization; child protective services social worker; assistant working with children and adults with cerebral palsy; assistant working with adults with Down Syndrome; youth minister; evangelist; and pizza maker. Nation has a Ph.D. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is married to Mary Thiessen Nation, has two children (Christina and Michael) and four grandchildren. (Interesting factoid for theological nerds: Scot McKnight and I were born about two weeks apart in the same town: McLeansboro, IL.)
