Marli Miller

Marli's books combine two of her greatest passions: photography and geology. She's been practicing photography since high school and geology since college in the early 1980s. Marli completed her BA in geology at Colorado College in 1982 and her MS and PhD in structural geology at the University of Washington in 1987 and 1992, respectively. She's now a teacher and researcher at the University of Oregon where she teaches a variety of courses, including introductory geology, structural geology, field geology, and geophotography. In addition to numerous technical papers, she is the author of Roadside Geology of Washington (with coauthor Darrel Cowan), Roadside Geology of Oregon, and Geology of Death Valley National Park (with coauthor Lauren A. Wright). Marli maintains a photo website (geologypics.com) that offers free downloads of her geology photographs.
