Martin L Altman III, "Woodie", was born on 10-16-1954 in Georgetown SC, the day after Hurricane Hazel came ashore and wreaked havoc on the coastlines of North and South Carolina. He is a native and currently resides in Georgetown with his wife Lisa. The Altman's are blessed with two children, Blakely and Wade, one grandson, Mase, and now a son-in-law, Chris Fallis. Woodie is a 50 plus year veteran of the workforce including 15 years in supermarket retail and 35 years in life and health insurance. After 2 years of work on "Wade's Story", this first book was released last year, May 2020. After graduating Winyah High School in 1972, Woodie continued working in supermarket retail. In 1987 he made a career change to Life and Health Insurance as an agent and manager. Lisa graduated Winyah in 1982. After staying home with Blakely and Wade before they started school, she earned a nursing degree from Horry Georgetown Technical College and has worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse since 1992. Woodie and Lisa were blessed to grow up in Christian families with direction and love. Lisa's parents were charter members of Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church while Woodie's mom and dad helped charter Wayne Methodist Church. A membership change was required however, because initially Lisa and Woodie could only see each other at church ! He has been at Maryville since then. Lisa has served in Women's Ministries for many years and also in Community Bible Study. Woodie served as a deacon and is ministering in music at Maryville and with the Cribbs, who have been singing and playing Southern Gospel in the area for decades. Woodie thanks GOD for Lisa, their children, the blessings of health, and the saving grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
