Marty Gross holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Following fourteen years of experience as an instrumental music educator in Wisconsin public schools, he became interested in the potential positive impact of educational technology on student learning. He obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science Education from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and went on to serve as Educational Technology Specialist for the School District of Sheboygan Falls. In that role he trained, mentored and collaborated with teachers in all subject areas to promote effective teaching practices. In addition to a lifelong involvement as a low brass musician and vocalist, Marty has found new opportunities for musical performance through ukulele playing. His belief in the value of music for all children, combined with his commitment to quality instruction, are reflected in the comprehensive classroom series, Essential Elements for Ukulele published by Hal Leonard. He has presented on the topic of ukulele in the music classroom at several state conferences for music educators.
