Mary Dalgleish

关于作者

Following a career in education, Mary Dalgleish qualified as an aromatherapist at the Tisserand Institute in London in 1999 and later worked there as an anatomy and physiology lecturer. Mary’s aromatherapy studies sparked an interest in natural health and since then, she has completed a variety of complementary therapy training courses including reflexology and various forms of face and body massage. Mary has worked as a lecturer in the complementary therapy departments of several London adult education colleges including Kingston, Merton, Sutton and Morley Colleges. She has also lectured at several private colleges, including Maureen Burgess AOR Accredited School of Reflexology, Westminster School of Yoga, the School of Natural Therapies, and more recently at the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy (ITHMA) based at Regent’s University in London. Over the years, Mary has taught a range of continuing professional development massage courses for qualified therapists and ran a busy private therapy practice in southwest London from 1999 to 2020, which you can read more about here. She has now retired from clinical practice and relocated to the Cotswolds. Mary is passionate about health and wellbeing and enjoys walking in nature, yoga, aqua aerobics and reading health related books. Mary was awarded a ‘Certificate of Excellence’ for teaching anatomy & physiology at Merton Adult College in May 2005 and again in May 2008 (nominated by her students). She was also awarded a ‘Commended Tutor of the Year’ Certificate at the Federation of Holistic Therapists Excellence in Education Awards in 2012. Mary has co-authored two books to date: ‘Indian Head Massage – the Essential Guide’ & ‘Ear Candling – the Essential Guide’ (both originally published by Hodder Arnold as part of the ‘In Essence’ series). She is a Senior Fellow and former Vice-President of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (2014-2022) and holds a Master’s Degree in Education. ‘KNOW YOUR BODY’ was submitted to the Page Turner Awards 2020 just before it was published, and Mary was among the writing award finalists for completed unpublished books. The book was also a finalist in the 2022 Page Turner ‘Book Award’ category for published books.
