Massimo Arico: I was born in Genoa, Italy, to a Istrian family forced to abandon his land just after the Second World War, in order to escape the ethnic-cleansing perpetrated by Tito's communists against the Italian minority. My great-grandfather was NCO in the KuK Army and disappeared in Galicia, on Eastern front, in 1914 or 1915. My grandfather worked for the italian administration of the city of Pola (Istria) until 1943; then, as I said, he immigrated to Italy, with all his family in 1946, when Istria was annexed to Yugoslavia. History and military matters are my fields of interests, as well as the so-called "human sciences", expecially related to the human behaviour of perpetrators and victims during the Jewish Genocide. Till now I have published two books: - Ordnungspolizei: encyclopedia of the German police battalions. September 1939 - July 1942 - Ordnungspolizei: ideological war and Genocide on the East front, 1941 - 1942. Now I'm working on a new title, related to the German minority and collaboration in Serbia and Banat.
