Matias Arredondo

Originally from Chile, I moved to Hawai'i with my wife and started working at the University of the Nations in Kona. I never considered writing children's books until our son was born. Suddenly, most of what I was reading was for his age group, so I naturally started thinking about books I could buy for him. I tried to find bilingual books (in Spanish and English), but not many were available. I decided to fill the gap and create simple stories with deep values. Something that parents could read in a few minutes and kids could enjoy and understand. Now I'm in this boat, guided by my inner child and looking forward to seeing where he takes me. I hope that through my books, multicultural families can entertain and teach their children without choosing one language over another. I wish them to embrace the uniqueness of their blended worlds and cultures.
