Matthew Cappucci

关于作者

Matthew Cappucci is an American meteorologist and storm chaser based in Washington D.C. He works on all platforms, serving as a TV meteorologist, contributor to The Washington Post, lead on-camera meteorologist at the MyRadar app for English forecasts and a radio meteorologist at WAMU, Washington D.C.'s NPR affiliate. He regularly makes appearances as an expert on international televisions outlets, particularly DW News, BBC World News, SkyNews Arabia and ABC News Australia. He was named the 2023 national weatherperson of the year by the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, and was also nominated for an Emmy award. He graduated from Harvard with a degree in atmospheric sciences in 2019. When he's not working, he can still be found with his head in the clouds, quite literally. An avid storm chaser, Cappucci has shattered three windshields in softball-sized hail, flown into the eye of a major hurricane, hunted down 15 tornadoes and ridden out Category 3 and 4 hurricanes, blizzards, atmospheric rives and everything in between. His profession is his passion, and always will be.
