Matthew Evans is an Australian chef and farmer turned food advocate. He is the host of Gourmet Farmer on SBS Television, and appears regularly on radio and podcast broadcasts. His writing has appeared in Vogue, Gourmet Traveller, Conde Nast Traveler, Feast and Grazia along with major newspapers. He is the author of 15 books on food, covering everything from seasonal recipes, to sustainable fish and the prickly topic of ethical meat eating and soil. He co-owns Fat Pig Farm, a regenerative paddock to plate dining room and smallholding in Southern Tasmania, where what you eat comes from just outside the windows. He's a passionate advocate of knowing and trusting what you eat, and a great believer in the role of soil in nurturing not only the bodies we inhabit, but the planet on which we place our feet. When he's not writing, or agitating for more transparency in the food system, he milks cows, tends a garden, stacks firewood, fattens pigs and cooks.
